Details: This Harrisburg-based position involves supervising Therapeutic Support Staff and providing behavior intervention and therapy to children and their families in home, school, and community settings. Candidates must have their own means of transportation for travel throughout the greater Harrisburg area. Variable work hours according to assignment availability and/or employee's availability. Domestic Violence Consultant

Details: JOB SUMMARY The Domestic Violence Consultant is responsible for providing consultation and training in the dynamics of domestic violence designed to increase the competencies of DCF staff and other community providers. The position is housed in the DCF area office.    MISSION STATEMENTWheeler Clinic fosters positive change in the lives of individuals and families, as well as in communities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvides general and case specific consultation to DCF staff.Participates as part of a team working on targeted cases to identify and screen for domestic violence, model effective interviewing, and assist with safety/risk assessment, the development and implementation of safety plans, effective service planning and the coordination of service provision.Formulates, verbally and in writing, clear feedback regarding safety planning, risk assessment, treatment planning and case recommendations.Demonstrates an understanding of the adverse impact of batterer's coercive control, strengths and safety planning of survivor, trauma and its impact on development, potential treatment needs of family members and cultural and familial dimensions which influence domestic violence cases. Completes thorough case consultation notes in a timely manner.Effectively integrates into area office providing consultation to managers and staff regarding services/projects in that area.Provides oral and/or written testimony in and for Superior Court for Juvenile Matters.Adheres to policies and procedures in dual agencies (Wheeler Clinic and DCF).Identifies needs and provides trainings for DCF staff and community providers, soliciting feedback to improve training.Accompanies DCF staff on home visits and provides telephone support to staff in the field.Participates in Wheeler Clinic, DCF and community (school, probation, provider, community team etc.) meetings, as requested.Works with local providers to improve the coordination of services across multiple systems, community response and interventions to families experiencing domestic violence. Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer

BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST CONSULTANT

Details: WES Health System, a 501 (c) (3) organization is the parent company for several non-profit and for-profit organizations serving the residents of Philadelphia. WES Health System and its subsidiary companies were named after Dr. Warren E. Smith, a prominent African American psychiatrist who was committed to providing quality behavioral healthcare to the underserved. WES, founded in 1992 has experienced significant growth during the last five years and has created an organizational structure to meet the needs of current and future growth. WES Health System has an exciting opportunity in our BHRS Department for a Behavior Specialist Consultant (BSC). The Master's Level BSC will  design and direct the implementation of a child-specific individualized behavior modification intervention plan. While maintaining direct contact with the child and family, the BSC will primarily provide assessment; program design; monitoring; and supervision to the assigned Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS). Strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, developed documentation capabilities and a motivated team attitude are essential attributes for a successful BSC.We also have a need for bilingual individuals, who speak English and Spanish fluently.
