Details: Do you have a passion for helping pregnant women?At Bethany Christian Services, our goal is to help expectant parents and their families make informed decisions when facing an unplanned pregnancy.  Strong listening and counseling skills will be important as you build relationships with women and men facing an unplanned pregnancy and assist them throughout the decision making process during a highly emotional time in their life.Essential skills to be successful in this position are high energy and drive since it is important to be willing and able to respond to client needs at their time and their place.  A strong counseling background and the ability to show initiative and be a self-starter are also important skills needed in the role of pregnancy counselor.Your social and networking skills will lead you to successful contacts with doctors, clinics, schools, hospitals, pregnancy centers and churches as you reach out to women and men in all areas of your community.This is a challenging job but one that you can see how the work you do can have a life affirming and long-term impact in the lives of children and families.What's in it for you?:You will be: Responding immediately to inquiries from expectant parents; Providing immediate assistance and referrals as appropriate, and also assessing the longer term needs present; Providing resources and on-going support, when parenting is the choice for the unborn child; Present adoption as a positive and viable option to clients; Provide ongoing support with clients choosing adoption as they select a family and provide ongoing counseling as needed including grief and loss counseling; Part of an amazing team of workers dedicated and called to serve children and families through the mission of Bethany; A part of providing clients in crisis with decision making counseling that allows clients be well informed when making a decision about an unplanned pregnancy.
