Career Counseling & Outreach Liaison

Details: The candidate in this position will provide career counseling and assessments through individual appointments. He/she will create, facilitate and promote innovative career workshops to assist job seekers in maximizing their job placement opportunities. He/she will promote career services in the community to generate revenue targeting employers, synagogues, schools and job seekers. The candidate will provide oversight for an emergency assistance program to ensure all outcomes are met including mid-year and annual reporting. JOB DUTIES•Provide workshops for Synagogue Outreach, workshops for other programs within Career Services and workshops for other departments in the agency as needed •Screen, train, recruit and oversee volunteers assigned to Employment Workshops held in main office•Oversee and coordinate all administrative functions for Employment Workshops held in main office•Collaborate with agency job developers to identify appropriate clients for job placement•Participate in special projects as needed•Provide mentoring for career services staff as needed•Promote Career Services in the community to generate revenue.•Provide oversight for an emergency assistance program inclusive of mid-year and annual reports.•Create and facilitate innovative career workshops to assist the job seeker maximize their job search efforts.•Be familiar with all aspects of social media and how to educate clients on best business practices of Face book, LinkedIn, Tweeting etc… •Maintain case files on clients and prepare files for review by supervisor and team members•Respond to information and referral calls as appropriate; provide coverage for I&R Coordinator during leave•Market existing agency services by bringing in clients through networking•Attend internal and external training sessions, conferences, professional development workshops, etc. to maintain current knowledge in the field •Meet regularly with supervisor to present and discuss clients•Maintain bi-weekly and monthly totals of activity for outcome measures; provide information to supervisor as needed
